A well-running transport infrastructure is essential to maintaining the European Union’s competitiveness and wealth. Its Member States currently have five million km of paved roads, more than 215,000 km of rail lines and 41,000 km of navigable inland waterways.
The TEN-T policy supports the completion of Priority Projects, representing high European added value, as well as projects of common interest and traffic management systems that will play a key role in facilitating the mobility of goods and passengers within the EU.
