How to activate my ArcGIS Online account?
Am I entitled to it?
Do you currently have a maintenance contract for your ArcGIS Desktop? If so, we have good news for you: you can request the activation of ArcGIS Online for your organization and receive a named user AND 100 credits per ArcGIS Desktop license under maintenance. For example, if 3 ArcGIS Desktop are in maintenance in your organization, you are entitled to 3 named users and 300 credits.
Activation
Contact Esri BeLux support (support@esribelux.com) to request the activation link.
You will receive a link of the type:

Make sure your ArcGIS Online is activated by the person who will manage it later. If necessary, forward the e-mail from Esri BeLux to the person concerned and follow these steps:
1 There are three options available to activate ArcGIS Online:
- If this is your first time using ArcGIS Online, but you already have an esri account with a username (for example, to access My esri), enter the username and password of this account and click ‘ Sign Up’.
- If this is your first time using ArcGIS Online and you do not yet have an esri account, we invite you to create one by clicking on the ‘Create account’ button.
- If you are already using ArcGIS Online (for example an ArcGIS Online Public to test the esri platform), enter the username and password for that account and click on ‘Sign up’. If you do not want to, create a new esri account.
2 After you have logged in, your Organization Setup Page will appear.
2.1 Enter the name of your organization. You can change it later if you wish.
2.2 Choose a short name for your organization, ie the name that is associated with your ArcGIS Online URL. The URL of your home page looks like this: http://kortenaam.maps.arcgis.com. You can not change this name afterwards.
2.3 Determine the default language used for the user interface, as well as the format for displaying the time, date and numerical values. Each user can change the language on his / her profile page.
2.4 Choose the region that will be used to determine the default basemap gallery and the default size for new maps of your organization.
2.5 Optional, select the option to only access the organization via HTTPS.
2.6 Click Save and continue.
3 Since the ArcGIS Online in your organization is activated by you, you get the role of Administrator, with which you can invite users and define their role, create user groups, check the consumption of credits, etc. It is possible to have multiple administrators for ArcGIS Online to have.
How to invite and add a new user?
Only users with administrative role or with appropriate privileges can add members to the organization’s ArcGIS Online. Contact one of these users to complete the following steps:
1 The user with the administrator role or the appropriate privileges logs in with his login at https://www.arcgis.com/home/signin.html to access ArcGIS Online.
2 Click the Organization tab at the top of the site, and then click invite members.
3 There are 3 possibilities to add members:
- Add members without sending e-mail;
- Add members and notify them by e-mail;
- Invite members to join with an account of their choice.
