Esri BeLux supports schools

Esri provides free GIS software and resources to European primary and secondary schools.

Interactive maps, created using geographic information systems (GIS), give a boost to traditional subjects such as geography, history, science, environmental studies, and agriculture.

Participating organizations receive cloud-based GIS tools. This allows teachers to apply dynamic maps and technology when teaching traditional subjects. The GIS software enables students to learn flexibly, enhance spatial thinking, and develop problem-solving skills. Discover below how to activate your School Bundle.

GIS central in geography

To support and assist teachers in teaching geography using GIS, education inspectors from the three networks and Esri BeLux have come together to compile a directory of digital maps that teachers can use in their lessons.

The maps are available on a central website containing all the digital maps that secondary school teachers can use during their lessons.

The site also includes a directory of various program topics and directly links to the available digital maps that can be used during the course.

This free hub is intended as a tool to provide digital support to geography teachers and will evolve according to the school curriculum.
