Through citizen participation, the city of Tongeren wants to ask the parents, pupils, teachers,… in short, all those involved, for input about the mobility situation around the schools. This is done digitally, via the cloud and serves as the basis for a mobility study.

All subsequent steps are automated. This is the Internet of Things, a set of devices connected to the internet. This allows them to send data to the cloud and communicate with each other or with computers, without human intervention. At the end of the day, the result comes out at the push of a button, so to speak.
